attention to energy and grounding.
Free, Shabbat
Multi-Faith potluck follows at 6pm
Details: Judaism has many physically spiritual
traditions. These traditions have often borrowed from the culture,
understanding that Kavvanah – intention-
is everything. We will use modern day yoga techniques to explore Kabbalah principles of body-mind centering
that include “bending the spine,” breathing fully, and creating a greater
mindfulness. Music and discussion will be included, to help create a
community-centered, joyful experience.
I have too many past performance to post, but the following list might be of interest:
Storyarts
Presents: Frankenstein
It’s Alive!
Stories based on,
inspired by, or tangentially related to Frankenstein. Cia presents “Golmah” – A story relating how it was actually the
Jewish women of Prague who made the first Golem, a female or Golmah.
“Smart Girls are Beautiful” at Patrick's Cabaret Restless Time Zones:
Based on a classic Jewish tale of Elijah the wandering biblical prophet, Cia Sautter’s “Smart Girls are Beautiful” updates such a story. It is a similar trope to the one found in Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well, which itself was based on a folk tale about a smart woman who is clever enough to resolve issues of love and life.
Hasidic Alegrias
at 9x22 Dance/Lab 1/23
Bryant Lake Bowl Theater, Minneapolis, MN
Named for the modest dimensions of the BLB stage, this exciting dance showcase features unfettered dance exploration. A discussion moderated by choreographer/curator Laurie Van Wieren follows each piece, giving audience and choreographer alike the opportunity to react and explore the work together.
Joyfull Yoga Synagogue Classes

basic Kabbalah principles of
